Meghan Markle’s Family Reconciliation Plan: Can Children Bring Unity with the Royals?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rift with the Royal Family could be healed by a “compelling link” that connects the couple with the King, according to a royal commentator.

Since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to the US in 2020, in-person meetings with members of the royals have been very rare.

Meghan has only returned to the UK once, for the late Queen’s funeral, and Harry’s visits to his home country have been brief and limited.

But former royal correspondent Jennie Bond has not given up hope of a reconciliation.

Having grandchildren is a powerful tug on the heartstrings,” she told OK! magazine, explaining how Archie and Lilibet could help heal relations.

“I can imagine that the King very much wants the chance to get to know Archie and Lilibet and to create some memories for them.

“The children may provide the most compelling link between Charles and Harry, and convince them both to forgive, if not forget, the bitter rows of the past.

“I fervently hope that Harry will not follow Meghan’s example of remaining obdurately estranged from her father and most of her family.

“Maybe Archie and Lilibet hold the key to reconciliation between Charles and Harry.”

It has previously been reported that the Kind is “sad” he is so absent from his grandchildren’s lives.

Archie was less than a year old when his parents chose to leave the UK.

Meanwhile the King has only once met Lilibet in person, with the Sussexes’ second child born in June 2021.

Earlier this week ex-royal correspondent Michael Cole told GB News His Majesty is “desperate” to know his grandchildren.

“It’s very hard for the King not to see his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” he said.

“They could quite easily have had Princess Lilibet baptised at Saint George’s Chapel at Windsor. But they chose not to do it.

“And the King, he’s had a tap on the shoulder. He’s got cancer.

“He realises time is short and he desperately wants to know his grandchildren.”

The potential for healing within the Royal Family lies in a “compelling link” that connects Meghan Markle and Prince Harry with the King, as noted by a royal commentator. Despite the physical distance between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and other members of the royal family since their relocation to the US in 2020, former royal correspondent Jennie Bond remains hopeful for a reconciliation. Bond emphasizes the powerful emotional bond that grandchildren can create, suggesting that Archie and Lilibet could play a significant role in bridging the gap between Charles and Harry. The opportunity for the King to build memories with his great-grandchildren could serve as a catalyst for forgiveness and reconciliation, particularly in light of the reported sadness he feels from being so distant from them. Archie, who was barely a year old when his parents decided to depart from the UK, and Lilibet, whom the King has only met once in person, represent a missed connection that the King is eager to rectify. Ex-royal correspondent Michael Cole also underscored the King’s longing to know his grandchildren, especially in the face of health challenges. Time is of the essence, and the King’s desire to build relationships with Archie and Lilibet remains a poignant aspect of the family’s dynamics. It is clear that the presence of the young children could pave the way for reconciliation and renewed bonds within the Royal Family. Despite the physical distance that separates the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from their royal relatives following their move to the US in 2020, former royal correspondent Jennie Bond remains optimistic about the possibility of reconciliation.

Bond highlights the emotional pull that grandchildren can exert, suggesting that Archie and Lilibet may hold the key to repairing the strained relationship between Charles and Harry.

The prospect of the King building lasting memories with his great-grandchildren could serve as a catalyst for forgiveness and reconciliation, especially given his reported sadness over the distance between them.

Archie, who was just a baby when his parents chose to leave the UK, and Lilibet, whom the King has only met once in person, represent a missed opportunity for a deeper connection that the King is eager to remedy.

Former royal correspondent Michael Cole also emphasized the King’s intense desire to know his grandchildren, particularly in light of his health challenges and the realization that time is limited.

It is evident that the presence of these young children has the potential to pave the way for reconciliation and the strengthening of familial bonds within the Royal Family.
