Celebrity Gogglebox viewers weren’t happy with Rylan correcting his mum Linda.
Rylan and his mum Linda are one of the Channel 4 show’s most loved duos and have been keeping viewers entertained since they joined in 2019.
Fans were thrilled to hear the duo would be back on TV together this summer after Linda took a break from the show following a nasty fall on holiday.
Upon her return to Celebrity Gogglebox this series, viewers branded her a “national treasure”.
But her playful banter with son Rylan has annoyed some fans of the hit reality series.
Viewers, in particular, weren’t happy with the presenter for continually correcting his mum over her pronunciation of some medication.
At one point during the episode, Rylan and his mum got into an argument about the medication Linda needed for her hay fever.
Rylan corrected her pronunciation of the word antihistamine and continued to ask her to repeat it as they were watching TV.

“I’m not stupid, so stop trying to make it sound like I am!” she exclaimed after Rylan pointed out she was pronouncing the medication wrong. He hit back: “I’m not, I’m just trying to set you right. Antihistamine.”
Linda fumed: “But you knew what I was saying, didn’t you?” Channel 4 viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to defend the TV presenter’s mum. One wrote: “Anyone else wish Rylan would stop humiliating his mum, mine would slap me if i kept doing it lol.”
Another said: “I agree. It’s getting a bit excessive and it doesn’t feel like it’s nice for her,” while a third tweeted: “Rylan never stops humiliating his poor mother. Why does she put up with it?”
However, others commented on how much they loved the dynamic between the mother and son. “Love the relationship between Rylan and his mum. So nice to see Linda looking so well,” someone shared.
Linda returned to TV screens this series after suffering a nasty fall while on holiday in Marbella last year. She broke her arm and a leg when she fell, with the presenter’s mum needing surgery which was made complicated from Chron’s disease.
Rylan hired a private jet to fly his mum back to the UK and joked at the time: “My first experience on a private jet was on a medical one, how’s your luck.” Linda has since made a full recovery with her son revealing that he knew his mum was going to be okay when she asked if she could still have a new driveway as she came round from surgery.
Three months after the accident, Rylan revealed his mum was “hobbling around Lakeside (shopping centre), so she’s very much back to normal.”
Despite the mixed reactions from viewers, Rylan and his mum Linda continue to bring their unique dynamic to Celebrity Gogglebox. Their on-screen chemistry and banter have made them fan favorites since they first appeared on the show in 2019.
It’s clear that Rylan and Linda share a close bond, with Rylan going above and beyond to make sure his mum is okay, especially after her accident in Marbella. Their relationship is a mix of playful teasing and genuine care, which resonates with many viewers.
