The pop star hit the stage on Friday after reportedly telling an arresting officer his legal woes may jeopardize his world tour.
Justin, 43, spoke out on the United Center stage in Chicago on Friday night.
The performance was the N’Sync frontman’s first since he was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, for driving while intoxicated.
“We’ve been together through ups and downs, lefts and rights, and, um, it’s been a tough week,” he told the audience, alluding to his arrest.
“Nothing can change this,” he continued, though it was unclear to what he was referring.
“I know I’m hard to love sometimes but you keep loving me and I love you right back,” the Trolls star went on.
“Thank you so much.”
The audience cheered in response to his comments.
SAYING SORRY
Justin reportedly also issued apologies behind the scenes.
A source told The U.S. Sun exclusively that the singer apologized to his tour crew following his arrest.
He has no plans to go to rehab despite his recent legal issues.
Justin will return to New York to perform at Madison Square Garden on June 25 and 26.
The Cry Me A River singer is due back in court on July 26, the same date he’s set to begin his world tour in Poland.
But he is expected to appear virtually and, as a source previously told The U.S. Sun, is desperate to continue his world tour.
“Justin’s team will be working to see if they can make sure he can perform in Poland,” the source said.
“At the moment he is due in court on the same day he is starting the European leg of his tour. He is supposed to be playing two nights there.
“He will not want to let his fans down.”
‘SOLID LEADER’
According to The U.S. Sun’s insider, who works in Justin’s entourage, the former Mickey Mouse Club star spoke to his team during a long conference call hours after he was arrested.
The source says members of the crew were concerned about the future, adding that the incident “wasn’t the best thing to happen” ahead of his chaotic summer schedule.
Justin was described by the insider as a “very solid leader.”
He impressed his crew by “owning” the situation.
“He made sure that this arrest didn’t create tension in the crew, he reacted like a boss, like someone who owns his s**t,” said the insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“He said sorry for bringing this kind of attention to the team.
“Everyone was happy to hear what he said.”
JUSTIN’S ARREST
Justin was arrested shortly after midnight on Tuesday after leaving a gathering at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor, New York.
The arresting officer alleged that they saw the Grammy winner swerve and drive through a stop sign.
Upon being approached by authorities, the Selfish singer declined a breathalyzer.
He failed a routine sobriety test and was taken into custody.
Justin was arraigned at Sag Harbor Village Justice Court and released without bail.
He was charged with a single count of driving while intoxicated and cited for running a stop sign and failing to stay in his lane – both traffic infractions.
Following his arrest, new details became public.
One of the responding officers reportedly did not recognize Justin, a source told Page Six.
“He didn’t recognize him or his name,” the source said.
Another insider revealed to the publication that Justin was worried about his upcoming tour during the incident.
“Justin said under his breath, ‘This is going to ruin the tour,’” the insider said.
“The cop replied, ‘What tour?’ Justin said, ‘The world tour.’”
The insider went on.
“He was a gentleman. He didn’t show any entitlement at all. He did refuse the tests, but that is his right,” the insider revealed.
Justin could face up to a year behind bars if found guilty.
