Fans were left emotional when Ed Sheeran nearly lost it during the England vs. Slovakia match: 90 minutes of “heart-stopping” action for all!

Ed Sheeran couldn’t hide his elation as England battled back from an early scare to beat Slovakia 2-1 in a nail-biting Euro 2024 last-16 tie on Sunday.

The singer, who had previously been spotted in the stands during their 1-1 draw against Denmark, was in high spirits as he joined fans for the crucial knockout match.

But as the Three Lions went 1-0 down after just 25 minutes, Ed struggled to hide his shock as the nation feared England could crash out of the tournament with a whimper.

There were early clashes and a flurry of yellow cards at the Arena AufSchalke, after manager Gareth Southgate

made one change to his starting XI following last Tuesday’s underwhelming goalless draw with Slovenia.

He picked Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo in place of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher, as England chased a place in the Euros quarter-finals against Switzerland.

Manager Gareth Southgate’s men looked on the brink of an embarrassing Euros exit in Gelsenkirchen, only for Jude Bellingham’s spectacular overhead kick to salvage an equaliser deep into stoppage-time.

And skipper Kane delighted the England fans who made up the majority inside Gelsenkirchen’s 60,000-capacity Arena AufSchalke with the decisive goal – as the Three Lions turned their Round of 16 showdown on its head in 196 seconds.

England had been jeered off at half-time as they went in a goal down to Ivan Schranz’s 25th-strike for the unfancied Slovakians, who are ranked 45th in the world – 40 places below England.

And there was evident disbelief as Southgate sent the same eleven back on to the field for the second period, with boos ringing out within two minutes of the restart.

But the mood dramatically changed with Bellingham’s stoppage-time equaliser, which sent the game into extra-time – followed swiftly by Kane’s bullet header to put England in front.

Annie Kilner and Georgina Irwin were among the first WAGs to arrive at the Arena AufSchalke in Dusseldorf this afternoon as England is set to take on Slovakia in a last-16 knockout match.

The wives of Kyle Walker and Aaron Ramsdale were ever the ‘yummy mummies’ as they filed into the stadium with their babies in carriers as the infants get a taste for the ‘beautiful game’.

Model Georgina and Aaron welcomed Ronnie Ramsdale into the world last November, while Annie and Kyle welcomed their fourth child Rezon just two months ago.

Ed Sheeran couldn’t contain his excitement as England staged a comeback against Slovakia to secure a 2-1 victory in the Euro 2024 last-16 tie. The singer, who had been seen cheering from the stands in the previous match against Denmark, joined fans in celebrating the crucial win.

Despite going down 1-0 early in the game, Ed was visibly shocked along with the rest of the nation as England faced the possibility of being eliminated from the tournament.

There were intense moments and numerous yellow cards shown at the Arena AufSchalke, especially after manager Gareth Southgate made a key lineup change from the previous match against Slovenia.

The Three Lions were on the verge of a disappointing exit before Jude Bellingham’s incredible overhead kick leveled the score in stoppage time.

Captain Kane’s decisive goal then sealed the victory for England in a matter of seconds, turning the Round of 16 game around completely.

England fans were left stunned at half-time when Slovakia took the lead through Ivan Schranz’s goal, despite being considered underdogs ranked 40 places below England.

The atmosphere shifted drastically after Bellingham’s equalizer, leading to extra-time and ultimately Kane’s header that put England in the lead.
