American football player Travis Kelce called himself an “American idiot” following his meeting with Prince William at girlfriend Taylor Swift’s show.

The pop star played a string of sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium over the weekend to thousands of fans as well as a string of showbiz guests. 

She stunned fans when she shared a selfie with Prince William and his children, who had enjoyed the show. 

The Prince of Wales partied with son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte on his 42nd birthday.

Sharing a picture of Taylor taking a picture with his kids, William wrote:

 “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour.”

 Taylor also shared a selfie with the royals and her boyfriend Travis where she wrote: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”

Travis has since shared what the meeting was like as he admitted: “I didn’t realise this because obviously we’re backstage meeting him because he was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet. Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to like bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hand.”

Speaking on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason, he added: “We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the park.” Jason shared: “But they said that because we weren’t at like an official royal event, we didn’t need to bow or curtsy. If it would have been like an official meeting of royalty event, then it would have been that. But I did still address him as your royal highness.”

Travis quipped: “Yeah, no, 100%,” as Jason confessed: “And I’ve never felt emasculated.” The brothers shared more of their meeting as they praised Prince William and his children. Jason said: “I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great too. She was so f**ing adorable. Like I cannot express how, I don’t know, maybe it’s because I have three girls now. It was, she had fire to her. She was asking questions.”

Prince William, George and Princess Charlotte were seen enjoying the three-hour concert from a private box overlooking the thousands of fans at Wembley Stadium. A viral video also shows the father-of-three showcasing his dance moves to Taylor’s popular hit Shake It Off, much to the delight of fans.

Travis also had a very direct opinion of the Prince of Wales following their brief encounter. He said on his podcast: “Dude, he [Prince William] was the coolest motherf****r.” He heaped on the praise as he added: “He was awesome. He was so cool.” Travis and Taylor have been dating since September last year and he decided to make his first appearance on stage with her in London. The sports star stunned the crowd as he stepped out as part of a dance routine with his pop superstar girlfriend.

During a podcast with his brother Jason, Kelce shared his thoughts on meeting the royals. He mentioned feeling unsure about the proper protocol and whether he should have bowed or curtsied. However, the brothers were informed that it was not necessary since it wasn’t an official royal event.

Jason praised Prince William and the children, highlighting Princess Charlotte’s adorable and inquisitive nature. The royal family seemed to have a great time at the concert, with Prince William even showcasing his dance moves to Taylor Swift’s songs.

After the encounter, Kelce couldn’t stop raving about how cool Prince William was, calling him “the coolest motherf****r.” He expressed his admiration for the prince and had a great time overall.

Travis and Taylor have been dating since last year, and Kelce made a surprise appearance on stage during Swift’s London show. The sports star joined Swift in a dance routine, much to the surprise and delight of the audience.
