Madonna is receiving comparisons to pop sensation, Sabrina Carpenter, after sharing an age-defying selfie to her Instagram Story on Sunday evening.
Following her glamorous post, taken ahead of her performance at New York City’s LadyLand Festival in Brooklyn, the music icon and pop culture legend, 65,
sent the internet into a frenzy as their marveled over her youthful appearance and striking resemblance to the Espresso hitmaker, who is 40 years her junior.
Social media users were quick to react to the new snap of Madonna on X (previously known as Twitter), with one declaring
the seven-time Grammy winner as looking like ‘the same gorgeous woman she was 34 years ago.’
‘I don’t care if she has fillers twice a week or if she drains the national grid applying filters to her pictures – she looks AMAZING!’ another raved online.
In response to many comparing her appearance to Carpenter’s, a Madonna superfan gently reminded the world that it’s actually ‘Sabrina [who] resembles young baby face Madonna.’
‘Madonna actually looks better sorry to say,’ a fourth remarked.
Another joked that the mother-of-six woke up and ‘said it’s time to look like Sabrina Carpenter today.’
A handful also suggested that Carpenter would be perfect to ‘play Madonna in her biopic’ someday.
The comments come just Carpenter stepped out in a stunning Michael Kors dress, previously worn Madonna on the cover of Glamour magazine in 1990, to a Vogue World: Paris afterparty.
Earlier this month, she gushed that if she were to teach an Intro to Pop class that Madonna, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera’s music would all be incorporated into the curriculum.
‘Those were some of the first pop songs I ever heard and they raised me when I was five and helped me find my own version of that,’ Carpenter told Rolling Stone. ‘This would be a really long course. I should never teach a course.’
Carpenter has paid tribute to Madonna a handful of times over the years, including performing a cover of the superstar’s 1984 track, Like A Virgin, multiple times during her Emails I Can’t Send Tour.
The Disney Channel alum, who opened for Taylor Swift on The Eras Tour in Latin America, Australia and Singapore, has recently skyrocketed in popularity following the releases of her hits Espresso, Please Please Please, Feather and Nonsense.
