Shania Twain’s Glastonbury set criticized as a “disastrous failure” by a guest: “Absolutely dreadful.”

Shania Twain is the latest major star to have been dogged by persistent sound problems, after Cyndi Lauper, Dua Lipa and Coldplay all experienced the same issue.

Glastonbury: Shania Twain takes to the stage

Shania Twain’s Glastonbury show fell flat today, despite belting out classic country pop tunes like the 1997 hit ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’.

The Canadian singer – who doesn’t look a day older today than she did when she appeared in that iconic music video 27 years earlier,

clad in a long leopard print coat, seemed to have been plagued by techinical problems.

Sympathetic listeners took to Twitter to share their frustration that her major moment at one of Britain’s top music festivals was marred – and blamed the sound crew.

They begged for someone to “rescue” the songstress, saying: “What is going on with the sound for Shania Twain?! She’s really struggling. This is absolutely dreadful.”

Another listener took to Twitter to point out the “utterly horrific sound mix”. A third added: “The sound at Glastonbury has been terrible on BBC, Cyndi [Lauper] yesterday and now Shania?”

In the lead-up to her performance in the Legends slot, fans had been dressing up in colourful carnival costumes and even donning cowboy hats as they sang along to her lyrics. They’d been looking forward to celebrating female artists at the festival after there was a backlash the previous year about a lack of women headliners.

The singer herself didn’t disappoint in the glamour stakes either, donning a rhinestone-studded black cowboy hat and boots, satin gloves and a pink frilly outfit. Even her microphone was encrusted with crystallised sparkles as she went for the ultimate glammed-up festival look.

However, on Twitter, fans noticed the technical difficulties and thought their icon had too. One exclaimed: “Looks like Shania knows something is wrong with the sound.”

Another lamented: “I love her – I don’t want to be underwhelmed.” However, she was passionately defended by someone else, who argued: “Anyone saying bad things about Shania needs to wind their neck in. The queen performed. After seeing her last year in London she can still give it her all #Glastonbury.”

The comments come just hours after fans pointed out that ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ star Cyndi Lauper and Coldplay crooner Chris Martin also appeared to have been battling issues.

Shania Twain’s technical issues at Glastonbury have sparked discussion about sound problems plaguing major artists. Just like Cyndi Lauper, Dua Lipa, and Coldplay, Shania struggled with sound quality during her performance. Fans took to Twitter to express their frustration, with many blaming the sound crew for the disappointing experience. Despite the issues, Shania looked stunning in her performance outfit, dazzling fans with her glamorous festival look.

It’s not uncommon for artists to face technical difficulties during live performances, but it can be particularly disappointing for fans when it happens at a major event like Glastonbury. Shania’s loyal followers still showed their support on social media, praising her resilience and dedication to delivering a stellar performance despite the challenges.

As the music industry continues to evolve, artists like Shania Twain serve as a reminder of the importance of live performances and the unpredictable nature of technical issues. Despite the setbacks, Shania’s Glastonbury show was a testament to her enduring talent and showmanship, leaving fans hopeful for more memorable performances in the future.
